Description:

Matches volunteer companion/caregivers with seniors to enable them to age in their homes and remain independent. Services include friendly visits, telephone reassurance, transportation and in-home respite for family caregivers. Volunteers run errands, shop and delivery grocery and food, medications and other essential items. Provide emergency food supply when needed and delivers prepared meals when necessary for temporary and/or immediate needs. Provides volunteer opportunities for assisting seniors in the community. Stay on Your Feet, Falls Prevention Volunteer Program deploys volunteers to communities to assist residents in identifying environmental factors that contribute to falls. The Falls Prevention volunteers outreach to the community to educate the public about the devastating impact a fall will have in quality of life for older adults.
