Latest Update as of March 2022

The state Department of Health announced recently, that additional booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine are now available to older or immunocompromised residents. The booster will serve as extra protection to them against severe illness.

People who are over the age of 50, are 12 or older and have a compromised immune system, and who received primary and booster doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine may receive a an extra dose of Pfizer or Moderna. This guideline was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The DOH announced these are for the people who received their first booster shot at least four months ago

Kaiser Permanente Hawaii has already started administering the second booster doses. To make an appointment and to find their vaccination locations, one may visit kp.org/covid. For more information on vaccination and testing options statewide, visit hawaiicovid19.com.
