Honoring lives lost to COVID-19

In remembrance of the 1 million American lives lost to COVID-19, the State of Hawaii and U.S. flags flown at half-staff until sunset last Monday, May 16, 2022. It was announced by the Governor’s Office last Thursday, May 12, 2022.


According to a news release, the order came from the Acting Gov. Josh Green because Gov. David Ige is in Japan on state business.


The order applies to the Hawaii State Capitol and all state offices and agencies as well as the Hawaii National Guard.
